We gotta get on the road, we gotta get outta town

"Go west, young man, and grow up with the country"
Well, Only the first part of this appears to be true in this situation. As I sit here in Burlington on a rainy Wednesday, I continue to go over things I need, and slowly cross off items that need to be completed before my good friend Jon and I make our departure on our 4000 mile, 18 state road trip through the south on our way out to Alta, Utah. I am tremendously excited to be working at a small lodge called the Snow Pine, right at the base of the resort waiting tables. Check it out here: Snowpine Lodge

My departure from Burlington will be bittersweet, as I have really grown to enjoy this town immensely in the past 4.5 years. I can definitely see myself back in this area, as my mom always said, "You really were born a Vermonter, we raised you in the wrong state." (screw you, taxachusetts :)) I am grateful for where I did grow up, and it helped me become who I am, and shaped me to believe in what matters to me. Not money, not a plush corner office, but being truly happy.

I can't thank my family enough for being accepting of my decision, and supporting me throughout the long process of figuring everything out.

Look for posts coming up soon, as we travel from Burlington, to Medfield to drop my car at home, then to Philly for a night, then off to Aunt Penny's in Kingston, TN, followed by Nashville for 2 nights, then on down to N'Olrleans for some po'boys and beers, followed by a long slog to Austin, TX for a UT football tailgate party and game, then to Tucson, AZ to see an old friend Nolan, followed by a couple nights camping in the Grand Canyon, Zion, and Bryce National Parks in southern Utah, before arriving in Salt Lake.
